Default Trying to put motor on engine stand!!! ->

I've been trying to find the right bolts to put my B20 on the engine stand for weeks. I know I need 12mm fine thread bolts about 4 inches long, but can't find anything anywhere!!! What bolts did you guys use to put the engine on your stand? Thanks for the help.

depending on what engine stand you have you will prolly need to do some modificatios to it, they are built for the majority of engine which have larger bell housings. I had to hack the arms on mine all up. Tranny bolts are the way to go, if you need longer- the only place I have found them is Pep Boys (and I think they were like 4 bucks EACH) Good luck with it.

all you need is 3 long bolts, washers and nuts. the bolts should be about 5-6 inches long. don't worry about it being us, metric, course, fine threads, etc. you will only be able to use three of the four arms. put the bolts through the holes that don't have threads in them, there should be about three. just center the fixture in the middle towards the top of the block

Hmmm...didn't think the tranny bolt would be long enough, and I did see those 3 open holes that I could use a long bolt and nut, but didn't think 3 would be enough. Guess i'll have to take a hack saw to those arms...

all you need to do is pick up the yellow book that you keep buy the phone and look up fasteners and call a fastener shop and you will find what you need and for a lot less than any auto store
