Default transmissions

what will happen if i put a tranny from a vtech engine on a non vtech?

also do clutches, swap between series just like the trannys

onyly asking cuz i might need to replace mine soon and will go with whats most available at the moment

vtec and non-vtec trannys will fit no with problem, same casing different gearing. all hydro trannys for the b series use the same size clutch.

what would be the ideal tranny for a sohc if looking to make it quiker and have more midrange than top end

and how do i identify the tranny i currently have if different from the original from that engine

ex tranny is ideal for everything except gas mileage.


if you make so much power that you can't put traction down in 4th gear then it's a different story.


any 92-00 d-series trans will work on any 92-00 d-series engine.
ideal is an ex trans, if not any of them will work.
