Transmission options
I have a GSR and my 2nd and 3rd gears are getting to grinding pretty badly so in the next few months i plan to rebuild and have a few questions.
Is there somewhere i can buy a "rebuild kit" for my tranny?
Also i i cannot afford a quafle LSD but i was considering putting a OEM LSD in it
And maybe a different final drive. I plan to go turbo in the future so what would be hte best final drive for a boost application.
I know it would probably be easier jsut to buy another tranny. But i dont want to buy a used one that is gonna jsut start grinding on me after 20k

turbo... hmm, some guys love the LS tranny and some guys still like their GSR tranny with FI.
I'd think you can buy a LS tranny in excellent condition for VERY cheap then drop in a Quaiffe or KAZZ lsd in the future.
the parts bill alone for your GSR tranny will be hefty.
BUT, the benfit of the GSR tranny is that a used ITR LSD will drop right in without any modifications, and they can be found for almost $350 all the time online.
you plan to boost so I would go LS now and LSD later on inside that LS tranny.

I am pretty certain there is not a rebuild kit available. I don't think there are any aftermarket gears or synchros available for the Integra trannys. I needed a third gear synchro and had to buy a third gear set from Acura for about $300
interesting.
I dunno about the LS tranny Ive seen them on GSR's and it slowed them.... But i guess longer gears + boost....
I dunno.
Any more suggestions.

get a b16 tranny it will definately help you out 1/4 wise..... if you wanna be able to cruze on the hwy with low rpm's just instal a LS 5th gear... There is approximately a 5 tenth difference in the 1/4 between GSR & LS trannies..

I always see that and that's such a misconception. "Longer gears" does not mean "longer boost." It simply means it takes longer for the turbo to spool up (depending on the size of the turbo. On my old turbo B20 setup (stock B20 motor w/9.6:1 comp and a big T3/T04E turbo), I had both a LS tranny and a GSR tranny and I tried out both. By far, the GSR tranny made the car much quicker. Granted traction wasn't as good in 1st & 2nd gears but in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears, the better gearing helped spool the turbo up quicker, thus making the car go quicker at a faster rate. With the LS tranny, it was ok to drive around in but if you wanted more performance, the GSR tranny was the way to go. I say this because I tried this on my car, so I had 1st hand driving experience with it.
