Default TPS Question???

I finished a B16A1 swap into a CRX Si and now its throwing a code 7(TPS Sensor). Before that code showed up, until I reset the ECU and it didn't show up anymore. Now its poping up again. Can anybody give me some tips or the steps to get this fixed?

You need to tune it. I am assuming you had to change it out because it was broken when you got the motor. Mine was 2. Anyways you need a didital mulitmeter to tune it. 1st find the 3 wires leading to the TPS. You are going to need to set the multi meter to read volts DC. Locate the middle wire going into the plug (red). Probe this wire with one lead. Then ground the other lead. Turn the key to the on/acc. position. Do not start CAR. Losten the tps mounting hardware so that you can twist the actual sensor. What you are looking for is your multimeter to read .5v at idle and 4.5v @ WOT. Getas close to these numbers as possible. Tighten the hardware and recheck. Disconnect multi-meter leads and reset ecu. The code will magicly disappear . Let us know if you have any questions.

check the plug maybe you have it connected with something else like the knock sensor.
That's not possible since the plugs styles for those 2 sensors are completely different. It's possible to mix up the MAP and TPS, they use the same plugs. Phat_Optimo has the solution, if that doesn't work chances are you need to replace the TPS. You can use the one from your stock Si motor.

Any autoparts stores will sell cheap versions for what you need it for. Wal-mart or K-mart (if they are still open ) also sell them. Sometimes they are called volt meters for short.

Hey guys no more codes after that trick that I did with the voltmeter. The only problem I got left is that it idles at 2,000 RPMs. Weird? Check my other post.

I am glad to hear the tps code is gone. Check the throttle cable. Make sure its not too tight (holding the plate open). Doubble check all vaccum lines around entire manifold. Spray carb cleaner around tb and IM & @ the head. Listen for engine to studder if it does you have a leak. Just a few ideas.
