IACV and KS wiring mixup?
I have a 92 VX with B16A2 swap with JDM P30 ecu. After the swap I got Code 20(ELD) and code 14(IACV). Car was daily driven for 2 months after swap and no other codes came up, checked and cleared often. Yesterday I got the part to fix IACV(see pic), the plug for said part(white/blk & red) was plugged into KS. With the IACV plugged in the code 14 is cleared, but I got a code 23(KS) last night when I hit about 8200 rpm. When I plug it(white/blk & red) into the KS and go for a drive I get the code 14 but no code 23.
So my question is how can the plug work for both the IACV and the KS? I need to wire one or the other I'm just not sure which one.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks.

Re: IACV and KS wiring mixup?
It can't. Your wiring is wrong. It is possible the signal from one can emulate the other to some degree. But eventually you get a CEL. Your VX didn't have a knock sensor. So if your using the VX engine harness, you need to add a Knock sensor sub-harness from the engine all the way down to the ECU. What engine harness are you using?
And if your IACV is unplugged, your engine won't idle (or will idle super low). So it just sounds like your getting your sensors confused. Where does the EVAP solenoid fit into this? Is it the IACV or EVAP solenoid?

Re: IACV and KS wiring mixup?
I am useing a Si harness from D16Z6.
The EVAP solenoid was missing from the equation until recently, which gave me the CEL Code 14(Listed as IACV in Haynes) and the super low idle.
I have now hacked a Ks wire and plug end out of a OBD2B harness so I plan to wire it all in tomorrow. And just to be sure it is pin D3, even on a JDM P30?

The IACV wiring should have a black/yellow or yellow/black wire as one of the wires. You sure the plug you have pictured above is white/black and not yellow/black? I believe the Evap plug is yellow/black and red.

Re: IACV and KS wiring mixup?
92-95 Civic wiring:
EVAP solenoid
- Yel/Blk to Main Relay
- Red to ECU
EACV (later called IACV)
- Yel/Blk to Main Relay
- Blu/Yel to passengers-shocktower then Grn/Wht to ECU
Knock Sensor is only a 1 wire plug so I have no idea how you could possibly mix it up with any other plugs. And yes it is D3 on all OBD1 ECUs with this feature.

Re: IACV and KS wiring mixup?
Ok so I spent the night in the garage and figured out that the harness was hacked to pieces. The EVAP purge is wht/blk & red...which is wrong colours, but for all intent it works as it should. I wired the KS to pinout D3 and no more CEL. so the original owner had a swap done by "Epic Autosport" here in BC and they did alot of things with the wiring that have made me scratch my head.
O well, alls well that ends well
