Default timing belt help----

alright, i tried searching but no luck.

how do you guys change your timing belts???????????????????

do you take it to a shop or do you diy?

im thinking about jacking up the block a bit just to slip it on, but are there any easier methods that any of you have came across?

also the pulley....is rotating it to tdc a pain of loosening it the problem>?

its really the only issue left with the hybrid.

any suggestions or links would be super appreciated.

hmmm...if you've got a manual, it's fairly easy. if you've got an auto, you'll need at least 2 people.

basically, remove all belts, power steering, a/c, alternator. you'll then need to remove the infamous crank pulley. if manual, stick a really thick/strong screwdriver in between the teeth of your flywheel to keep the crank from turning. then, you'll need a breaker bar and some strength to break the bolt. or if you've got access to air tools, that'll work. pull it off, then loosen the tensioner, remove the belt(of course you've already got the valve cover off).

that's brief, didn't feel like going to into detail.
