well it depends on how you build it. are you using stock pistons? if you are, then its too low of a compression to be a fast N/A car.
but with proper pistons. most of our LS/VTECS with high comp pistons are at least in the high 13s on a heavy h/b or coupe with basic bolt ons.
but if in a crx, it can be in the low 14's and easily in the 12's with a little more modifications

are you talking about street tires?

our crx's on the lsvtec setups on slicks are busting 1.7 60ft.s
remember not everycar is prepped with a good suspension, slicks, and a good driver.
so there are factors in determining what a car can do.

Well what do you think about a LS/VTEC setup as far as times with a y1 LSD tranny with ACT clutch... 11.4 c/r... all boltons...ITR IM, GSR cams, lightweight valves... skunk2 ecu.. in a gutted DA... high 13s possibly?

No I meant DA9(92 Integra). Anyhow... yeah I just can't wait... but it will be faster than the average honda/acura running the streets these days.

Can you guys tell me your opinion on how reliable an Ls/vtec would be? I can't decide if I should do that, or just build a GSR...I want to go all motor though...

I have a 99 B18C1 in my 92 VX - completely stock block, head, pistons, etc. I have the basic bolt-ons, JUN stage 3 cams and cam gears. Running on 13" stock VX wheels and street tires I have ran a worst of 15.2 (1st time at a track ever) and best of 13.7 @ 102mph and I have the slip to prove it. Now assuming the same parts I have were used to build an LSVTEC or better yet a CRVTEC you would see better numbers - 13.2- 13.5.
You said that the LSVTEC was in a Del Sol which is much heavier than a 92-95 VX or CX hatch so weight plays a big part. I'm not saying Del Sols are a bad car but the weight advantage of an EG hatch is the reason why many people go with 92-93 CX and VX models.
I would not say that LSVTEC's with bolt-on's can't run 12's because I have a friend that has backed those #'s up time and time again at the track. His setup is a 93 CX hatch, 97 B18B block, 99 B16A2 head, JDM ITR pistons, Crower cams, JDM 4-1 header, Tanabe Racing Medallion, MSD SCI, AEM CAI, AEM cam gears and some good tuning. He runs full interior and slicks and has run multiple 12.8's.

if I ever build another LSVTEC or CRVTEC there are three things I will do different.

1. Sleeve the block while it is dissasembled.
2. Use the Z10 oil pump fitting insted of tapping into the back of the block
3. Use head studs

EDIT- I'd also like to install oil squirters next time around.

Has anyone ever tried the z10 oil pump fitting? It looks to be more reliable than the T fittings on my b20 motor. What was your previous set up riceboy and what happened with it? I was asked about oil squirters before and was told that they weren't neccessary when using forged pistons.

http://www.importbuilders.com has built many motors for people that run times even into the 11's on slicks. I got my work done by them and can't wait for my swap to be complete. They can show you all the prove you are looking for.

I didn't use the Z10 fitting ast time, but I agree with you about the fact that it just looks more reliable than tapping into the block, and I have heard cases to support this.

My last setup was a LSVTEC B18A1/B16A1 on a PR3 ECU in a 90 CR-X. It's sitting out side halfway dissasembled right now, the head bolts backed out, then the head lifted, and the threads in the block are stripped. I'm probably gonna either part the car out or more than likely get another CR-X and do a B18A1 turbo swap once money comes around to do it.

Oil squirters are not neccacary when running forged pistons, but I like the thought of having them there any way, it can only help.

If only I knew about the z10 product earlier. I thought they only had the block girdle and traction bars . Good luck on your turbo project, that things gonna be quick.
