Have all the tools you need. A big *** breaker bar. Someone to bring you food and drinks..... And if possible a friend and an open mind.
I always start on the bottom of the engine. Remove axles, shift linkage, mounts, exhaust. Then I start on top, disconect the wiring from the chassis but not from the motor. Leave the harness on the motor. Radiatior, power steering lines, heater hoseses and vacum lines as well as gas lines. Then start on the top mounts.

heh, hope ya go tools!
Tip: Don't forget a 32mm socket for the axle nut.
Secret Trick: If you don't have a punch to take out the shift linkage pin, if you have an A/C compressor, you can use one of the long-*** pointed 12mm A/C compressor bolts as a punch.
Just keep things organized..... Toss all the bolts into a big pile then throw them out in your lawn.... hehe j/k... Organization helps tho... Peace
dont forget the Helms Manuals if you havent done this before. To make things easier, get one for the car, and one for the engine. This will help in Wiring, and vacuum hoses....And Torque specs
Thanks guys!
Ill be posting pics in a few weeks.......if i can figure out how to do that!
Im sure ill be needing some help once I start this whole thing.
O yeah, what is going to been done special for the wiring or will I jsut be replcing all the wiring thats there with the wires that come with my engine?

For them cars with Air Cond., how do you guys pull the engine out from up top when the stupid metal lines on the tranny side are right above the tranny and they are blocking it from coming straight up? (I pulled the engine out from underneath but prefer next time through the top.)

To add on taking it out of the bottom you dont even need to rent a cherry picker. Cause not everyone has one in they garage. if you do it right you can use two floor jacks. I do it all the time. Just put the car on jack stands(which you should already know). And put a jack on the tranny and one on the oil pan(trying not mess up the pan use a piece of wood if you have too) and take either the front or rear mounts and then the sidemounts. One at a time and make sure everthing is inplace. And lower it slowly..if done right its pretty easy.....
Honda engines are made to come out from the bottom. So much easier.
ha ha just lower the car till the engine sits on the oil pan and finish removing the mounts. Lift the car and walaa!
Any pointers on reinstalling the engine back up? Anything you guys found out that made things a little easier?...for future knowledge when next swap occurs.
I've seen pictures of the engine swaps in Japan when the motors are too old for the laws. They just drop the engine by lifting the cars off the motors and cart them around to the new motor and lower it on to it.
