Keep the head, replace the valves and get a B20 bottom end. You'll love the torque! It shouldn't cost you any more to get a B20 block then the price it would cost to fix the b18. In fact, you could still get a couple bucks for your old bottom end. The H22 is heavier, needs a mount kit, axels and some wiring. Almost the same power output as a B20 vtec!

stay with the b18c...work with what u have..this would be a nice time to upgrade your valve train...and decide if u want to go all motor or turbo

A stock JDM H22A swap in a hatchback feels about the same as a 12:1 comp B20-VTEC motor in a similar hatchback.... I've driven both, but both still have their own characteristics and feel, but throttle response and torque-wise, very similar.
A stock B20-VTEC (no changing of the pistons), in my opinion after driving that setup as well, feels more like a stock GSR setup with better throttle response. But definetly nothing close to a stock JDM H22A setup in a similar chassis.
Not hating, just going from my own personal experience behind the wheel of each setup. For me, I'm dumping the JDM B18C swap in my DC2 and putting in a JDM H22A. For the 1st guy who asked what to do, do what you feel will benefit you better and what you would like to ultimately have done. If you decide to keep the B18C, now is a good time to build it up with some better components.

to much work huh? i didnt find my h22a swap any harder than a b16/gsr. and i would say its more than a little gain

I had a charged c1 in my teg , then ditched it to put in a h22 I had left over, and it was the best thing i could have done! I put a little bottle to the H and she is a BEAST! As far as the swap being so much harder, thats BS I pulled the c1 and had the H running in about 8 hours after what little wiring I had to do for the big block! Don't be discuraged, it is worth it for sure. I have also been in dc2 with a built b20 w/ around 12:1 or so comp. and it felt very comperable to my H all motor. I do have a "gifted motor", but it I still stand behind the h22 all the way! (Not that b- series are bad!)
