Steering Rack RATIO (NOT LTL) info request
This topic has been discussed many times over, but from all the threads I've dug through, I haven't found the answer I'm looking for. The question: what is the ratio of the quaife 3.25 LTL rack and pinion set for 92-95 civics? The 94-01 integra racks are 16:1 ratio, 2.98 turns LTL iirc, but I've seen a few posts where people swapped a power 'teg rack for their manual civic racks and increased their turning radius, so this leads me to wonder about the real ratio of the quaife unit, vs just number of turns LTL...
If the rack is the same length/number of teeth (assuming all have same number of teeth per inch), then the number of turns LTL can be compared, and we can assume that the integra unit is a quicker ratio than the quaife. But since the turning radius topic came up, it leads me to think that the integra rack may be shorter, which could result in less turns lock to lock (basically just a shorter range of motion), meaning the number of turns LTL says nothing about the ratio when compared to the quaife or stock manual civic racks.
Anyone ever take measurements or count teeth while they've had theirs out (manual civic or power integra)? Any info is appreciated.
