Default Rack swap questions, confused on ratios

I currently have an EG hatch with manual steering. I enjoy the feel and don't particularly like the feel of PS, but I'd like to be able to turn faster. I've been reading about various rack swaps, and I just wanted to clarify a few things. I've been considering swapping an integra rack, into my civic but looping the lines, but have read that this would make the car even heavier? Also, I've read the the integra rack is not faster, that they are the same ratio, but just has a shorter LTL making the car making the car more difficult to drive. What confuses me about the ratios, is that from what I've gathered, a higher ratio rack would be easier to turn, so physically one would turn faster, but mechanically it would be a slower rack right? But a lower steering ratio would mean a "faster" rack, but slower to turn, so would this even be any faster actually driving? Any clarification, correction, assistance that anyone can provide is appreciated.

Default Re: Rack swap questions, confused on ratios

A rack with a higher ratio will turn quicker, but will require more effort to turn.
