okay guys heres one for ya. this kid brings me a 1996 hatch dx and says "i cracked my block, can u fix this for me?" i said sure...not a problem. hes running a b16 with hydro tranny stock bottom end and build motor on 38lbs of boost fix the block and its all good. he calls me a couple days later and says "my car started to spit and spudder and wont start now" i tow the car back to the shop and i come up with this....there are 100000000000 plugs not plugged into anything and dont have a home. there is only one sensor pluged in on the entire motor.....pulled the ecu.....you should see this mess....wires everywhere...looked like it was piggybacked and its a flashed ecu with no stickers...PLEASE HELP ME before i pull my damn hair out lol...oh and i looked at it a bit ago and noticed that there were 2 hot wires on the cap only when the ignition is on?!? what could cause this if it was running perfect a few days before?

okay to make a long story short, this kid blew a hole in his block from too much boost, i put a new spring in it so its only running 5 pounds now and fixed the block. it ran for a couple days and he called me saying that his car wont start, come fix it. so i towed it back to the garage and noticed that there are wires everwhere and i have no idea where they go and the coil is throwing hot from both sides and wont fire.

here is what i figured out on the car so far: story goes like this....

the car was purchased brand new from an older gentlemen in New Jersey
1996 Honda Civic dx (automatic)
sold the car a few years later to this kid
the kid starting moding the car, eventually converting it to a 5 speed
B16A1 with a hydro tranny
then along came the turbo
first 10lbs....then 20...then the high boost
cracked the block, i replaced it and rebuild the motor to handle some boost, set the boost down to 5lbs using a spring.
the guy added a vtec controller and thats where **** started going wrong (this is how i take it)

i mean its a really clean motor and all, the swap was done well and i know there will be some plugs left over when doing a swap but this car is a wireing mess. the guy that owns the car is the kind of person that has more money then brains....he would rather get a polished intake mani spacer rather then getting a hondata computer that would acutally be programmed for his ride other then the flashed ecu hes using now. ill post some pics of it when i can find them

theres a few of the before and after the split, cant seem to find any of the wireing and all, ill have to take some later

 

any idea why it would be throwing spark to both sides of the coil pack?

 

whats with the screw driver stuck in the back lols.

 

If the engine ran fine when it left, I would charge the guy for returning everything back to the way you had it. Then charge to add whatever he had attempted to add.

 

well he is getting charged for bringing the car back, its an entirely new problem. but that still isnt answering my question about the coil pack, why is there 2 hots now?

 

This is chucks car . he bought it from a mexican in NJ . . chuck did nothing to this car besides blow it up . . .that thing is a mess.
