Sleeves; B18b LS/Vtec Question
When it comes to LS/Vtec, i dont know too much. Im planning on doing a set up of a B18b block with a GSR head in my DA. A friend of mine is gonna sell me a B18b block that needs to be resleeved. I believe that there is a crack in one of the sleeves or something to that aspect. My quesion is, how would i go bout resleeving? What are some options i have here? I was planning on taking it to a machine shop and having the sleeves bored to 2.0 and acid dipped. Any other suggestions or tip? How much am i looking at? I dont really know where im going with this and need some ideas to start O_o
thanks

I wouldnt invest in that motor unless you want a very very big output and have a shitload of money, basically resleeving will allow you to bore out to 86-87mm increasing dissplacement, it will fix the problem you have however it might not be needed at all, have the crack inspected, all you need might just be a fresh hone if the crack isnt too deep! a resleeve is atleast a 1500 dolar job vs a fresh hone can be as cheap as 100 bucks. so first you would need an inspection of the block!

Re: Sleeves; B18b LS/Vtec Question
Is there is a crack it probably went all the way through to the aluminum. You can easily get it sleeved for under $1200.00 and make it a 2.0L without a problem.
