It sounds like you have some time into your poor man, I have a B20 in my civic, and its great. But, the factory redline is about 1000 rpm or more lower than any of the dual cam VTEC engines with a B20, so you will have to be carefull not to over-rev. On that same note, the B20 depending on the what vehicle and trim level it came out of will have a redline of 6,500 to 6,800 rpm from Honda. On a positve note, the torque...even with the stock non-VTEC head is amazing, you definatly feel a difference. Plus that stock horsepower rating of 146hp is in a CRV, with and automatic transmission (which is a 4 speed), a CRV computer (which you can guess...has horrible ignition and timing curves as far as performance is concerned) and the famously retrictive factory intake manifold system and exhaust. With all that gone...well you get the picture, its a gib difference. In my personal opinion, go with the B20. Torque is what moves mass, just try and take it easy and stay out of the high R's on a stock bottom end. Hope this helps
