shorter shift lever = quicker shifts?
ive been looking into getting a short thro stick and bushings blah blah blah and a friend of mine said that replacing the stock shift lever with a shorter one would also quicken up shifting. i did a search and i cant answer my question.

it wont make for quicker shifts, it will just shorten the throw and give it much more positive shifts, gets rid of that spongy feeling that comes with a stock shifter

Actually it does shorten the throw between gears. Shorter shifter, shorter throws. Example: Shift with a 10 foot pole then shift with a 1/2 foot pole. Takes less time with the 1/2 foot pole. I don't recommend a 10 foot pole, but I used that size to prove a point.

im not talkin about a short throw shifter (as in the one u hold) im talkin about the little lever thats on the tranny that the shift linkage connects to.
