Default rod bearings need help!

i am trying to get new rod bearings for my b20, when i went to honda and told them that i have after market rods they told me i might have to get them custom made. Is this true? if not how would i find out the color code? is there a # on the new rods ( i am at work right now and cant look to find out) ?

nm guys. As soon as i got home called eagle and solved the problem in 2 min, thanks anyways

Glad to hear you got it straightened out. A friend of mine went with an Eagle crank for his B18C1 and had to use all OEM blue color bearings.

thanks man i was waiting for you to help me out like you are always good for. but i called up eagle and they told me all their honda rods are rated a #3 so all i had to do was.... get the helms out and then check my crank and wolla all C3 which makes the collor BROWN. i am getting closer, hopefully some times next month. just gotta get up some pics off my goodies to show u guys, if i could only get my lazy *** to develope my pics hehe.

it all depends on ur helms manual and what letter u have stamped on ur crank. me for instance have all C's across the crank which in the manual states that a C matched with a #3 rod os BROWN. any1 else

Why spend the money on the Honda bearings? Get yourself a setof ACL standards, stick in em and plastiguage em. If they call for Honda bearings, THEN spend the money to get the one specific for your crank. If the tollerances are within spec with the standards then I would rather use the ACL's. Honda bearings run about $200 to do the crank and rods and this doesn't include the thrust washers. I got my ACL's for $100 and this included the thrust washers as well. I plastigauged them all and they were all well within spec.

well the crank bearing is only running me around a 100 dollars and i rather stay OEM on the bearings just my preference

I used to think the same way until I checked into ACL beargins. Very nice pieces which in my opinion will far outlast the OEM pieces. Anyways, good luck with your project.

Mine were all B's so Green it was. Sounds like you are well on your way.

yeah only i have a few problems. Army doesn like to pay me in time, i havent gotten paid in over a month .
Motormatrix.com is having problems with sending me the products i ordered, and my tranny has taken forever but is supposed to be done thursday. other than that all i need is a turbo and other small parts.
