Default Recent swap...problem

i recently did a itr swap into a 98 dx hatchback. I am throwing 1 code and it is #14 which is idle air control valve. Any insight as to what might be causing this? I have been told that there are some wires or something that need to be switched around on the intake manifold because obviously the dx and itr are different motors. Can someone help? thanks

Are you using the OBDII Type-R ECU and your stock DX harness?

Pull off your Idle air controller and check if the little filter is clogged... it could be as simple as that, if it is wiring, have fun my friend!

The DX engine harness has a 3 prong connector for the IAC but the ITR has 2 prong connector. Did you already rewire the sensor to the 2 prong connector?

Lets not be so hasty, as not all Civic's used the 3-wire IACV.
All 96-99 D16Y5, D16Y8 and B16A2 with manual tranny used the 2-wire type.
All 96-99 D16Y5, D16Y8 with auto tranny & all D16Y7's used the 3-wire type.

Since you are using a 98 Civic harness (also applies to 96-97 as well):
D16Y5 & Y8's with manual tranny used A12 for IACV control.
D16Y5, Y8's with auto tranny & All Y7's used A14 & A13 for IACV control.

The 98-99 Teg's also used A12 for IACV control, however, in 00, it changed to B23.

Basically, if you have the 3-wire type, you need to chop off that connector and solder the 2-wire connector back in its place (wire colors are Yel/Blk and Blk/Blu, just leave the Orn wire from the 3-wire connector hanging).

At this point, you will need to move the wire from A14 into A12 for correct IACV function.
