Default need help (starting swap trouble!) ahhhh!

have a 1993 honda civic dx coupe that came stock with a d15, i took that out and put in a d16y8 im using all stock dx wireing harness dx ecu (orderd a p28 but its not hear yet. but that sholdent matter right it still should be running!? just no vtec?) i am aslo using stock dx injectors (cause my harness wouldent plug into the y8 injectors) and the stock dx distributer cause the y8 dist dident have the hookups for my dx wireing harness and it wasent sparking. now when i turn it over after messing with the timing it fires up but you have to keep the rpms up or it will die, also gas is coming out of the tail pipe its just not right? will it run? how can i make it run?

p.s. aslo im using the y8 intake mani but it dident have the sensors that the d15 mani did so i took the sensors off and just pluged them into my harness hoping it will just throw a code.
also there is a plug coming out of the motor below the cam gear and above the belt for the altenator its just dangling my dx wiring harness dosent support it anywere...

any help would be mutch apriciated and if you can give me a number to wear i can find help that too would be mutch apriciated. THIS SUCKS! its been a week and i want my car out of my school shop!

ok, the sensor by the timing belt is the crank position sensor....don't need it.

I would do this.....

Take the guts out of the stock distritubor, and put them in the Y8 distriutor. I don't think all the mounting holes will line up together, therefore, throwing off your timing.

Use the y8 distributor shaft, but swap out the internal electrical parts over. This will keep the original distributor, with the DX plug setup for your harness. Just don't strip any of the phillips heads inside the dizzy

UPDATE ON D16Y8:

IT RUNS! it just boggs really badd feels slower than the d15.. prolly cause im still running the d15 ECU.. a few problems that i think will be allot eazyer to figure out than all that shpeel before, i found the problem tho... I HOOKED UP A COOLENT HOSE TO A VACUME LINE!.... i had a few other lines mixed up.. still need to get that straight... but it runs!
- ok the timing is ok i fixed its perfect now.
- there are two forms of idleing on this car now.. one is it just sits at about 2700rpm the other is that is fluctuates from 1000rpm and to 2000 rpm and back down and up i hit the gas a couple times then it goes back to idling at 2700rpm..
-still using dx wireing harness.. should i get an ex wireing harness and rewire it?
-if im using the dx wireing harness how am i going to hook up vtec when i recive the p28 ecu??
- other than that i am very happy, the car is drivable now, and i have my baby back
this is my first swap ive done so sorry for all the n00b questions.. ive done allota work on hondas but nothing like this! phew! glad its almost over celebration time!

when u get your p28 u have to wire up vtec straight to the ecu (run a couple wires, nothing serious), search for the wiring diagram that you need. thats the only question i can knock off your list.

otherwise on the first swap!
