Rebuilt LS Vtec CEL problem
I have a freshly rebuilt engine that has roughly 50 miles on it now. I've been driving it on and off breaking it in. Here are the details:
B18b1 block with 81.5mm weisco pistons, manley rods, acl bearings, ARP studs and bolts. GSR water/oil pump, OEM headgasket.
GSR head stock, with adj. cam gears.
GSR trans, ACT flywheel (12lb), CC stage 4 clutch
Chipped p72 for lsvtec o2 delete
Harness is from an OBD1 b16 (supposedly)
At first I was getting codes 10 and 8. IAT and TDC sensor.
Not sure why, I'm gonna replace the IAT, but it has a brand new distributor so why would that TDC code come on?
Well I started the car up and the codes were gone. So I drove the car, got on it a little bit and when the light came back on it was the same codes, but code 21 vtec solenoid came up.
5 minutes of sitting and the light was off again.
Drove the car tonight and the light came on, so I pulled over, left the engine running and jumped the jumper harness to try to pull the code. The light just stayed on steady?
any ideas?

Check your grounds... specifically the engine harness main logic ground at the thermostat housing.
Is the engine harness OE stock or have you done some type of "wire tuck" ???
Is the "new" distributor that you speak of genuine OE Honda or from a parts store ???
