quick swap question
Just got a new 2000 civic ex and I plan on going b series because it has so much more potential than the d. Question being, sense my car is obd2b will any obd2b b series engine just plug into my stock harness, with the exeption of lengthening some wires. For example a 99+ b18c1, b16a, b16b, or even a b18b
u can do wutever conversion u want..u can keep it obd2b, convert to obd2a or obd1..a b16a2 from the 99-00 SI will bolt up perfectly including the ecu and u will not need a jumper harness for the ecu...
I am looking to keep the swap as simple as possible sence this will be my first swap, I knew the b16a2 would bolt right in no prob but I was thinking a b18 would be a better choice just to make more hp later on because I would like to boost it sooner or later, im leaning towards the b16a2 so far just because its a no brain swap
so there are no differences between motors? from my understanding i thought u had to rewire certain parts of an obd1 motor to work with an obd2 harness, also will obd2a and obd2b motors have the same harnesses? i wont need a jumper for a obd2a to obd2b will i?
obd2a engine harness have all 3 ecu plugs on it
obd2b engine harness have 2 ecu plugs on it and the other one is on the dash harness
the only thing have to change on a obd1 motor is the iat sensor plug on the obd2 harness and put a obd2 alt on it and put your stock obd2 injector on the obd1 motor unless your using bigger injectors then you change the injector plugs to obd1

hmmm sounds interesting, so if I was going to boost it later it would probly be better to just get the full obd1 swap and use a jumper harness because ill have to switch over to a obd1 ecu later anyway to chip it

and if your going boost it later just buy obd2b to obd1 conversion harness and a obd1 ecu and an ems and when your ready to boost then all you have to do is plug up the conversion and ecu (and wire up the resistor box if your going bigger then 750cc injectors) get it tuned
maybe less miles on it
i think 560s is cutting it for 300whp with boost but thats just me
and you gonna want power later
300whp is gonna get old real fast
