Quick Question on LS/VTEC knock sensor hole
Im assuming you drill the hole all the way through? I know your supposed to use a 10.9MM drill bit but I don't have and don't have anywhere around here to buy one. I planing on using a 7/16" which is like 11.1MM. What have you guys done?
Thanks

Re: Quick Question on LS/VTEC knock sensor hole (LA_HONDAS)
I know i dont need a knock sensor and i can disable it through my ecu. I plan on either geting S300 or a chiped P28 on Neptune. I want to tap this hoile before i send it out to get sleeved. I dont want to f$#@ it up after i spend a G on it.

where are you gonna put it on the ls block
ls blocks dont have a spot to put it so dont waste your time drilling and tapping a hole for a knock sensor
but i cant tell you what do

Re: Quick Question on LS/VTEC knock sensor hole (f22beast)
Most people will drill and tap it on the alternator bracket hole on the left. I put mine in the original honda location which is on the #2 cylinder 2 inchs from the top of the block where the sensor will pick up the best signal. Yes it is tapped into the water jacket. And yes I took all of this into account when i decided to place it there. eg heat, corrosion, water flow creating noise. but as far as im concerned none of these factors are going to influence the reading of the seonsor!
If anyone wants to contest my placement be sure to give your reason why you say it wont work there!
