LS/VTEC turbo people. Knock sensor question?
Where do you mount your knock sensor? I am using a 99 B18B1 and there is no place for a knock sensor. Please advise.

We modified one of the bolts that holds the alternator bracket to the block. The bolt has a nut welded to the end of it which we drilled & tapped to thread in the knock sensor. Unfortunatly I don't have a pic.

Re: LS/VTEC turbo people. Knock sensor question? (Chrome Pipes)
I see, I took a stock honda knock sensor and grinded down the threads and ran a die to it. Changed it from a 12x1.25 to a 10x1.25 thread, i'll see what will happen. i tested the knock sensor after all the grinding and it's still has a AC volt out put.
I am mounting the sensor @ one of the alternator bracket bolts. anybody else have any input?

I have a VW knock sensor left over from that Passat, I wonder if it send a signal we can use? Its the type that mounts with the bolt going right through it, just use the threads you need to fit the hole you have....

I use the one plug off the back of the block and weld a nut to fit the sensor in it. Work like a charm.
