Default Question on inspection

I swapped a b18c type r motor in my 2000 si, just went to get it inspected and it failed. The guy told me it wouldn't communicate with the machine. So i guess im gonna check all fuses and the plug but has anyone else had this problem? and what did you do to fix it? The cel works and it isnt on if anyone wanted to know. Thanks for any info.

what ecu are you using? any step down? ny has very touchy inspection regulations. specifically with ecu communication.

JDM ECU? Won't work. You'll need to find the USDM equivalent.

You need a P73-A04 since your car is OBD2B.

Because B18's never came in a Civic. Therefore, it's a hybrid.

Sorry guys still need some help. I talked to some guy who i guess knows about hondas in the area and told me no p73 ecu wouldn't pass in the USA, that i would have to get a Canadian ecu or one that starts with pcx? said that would run me about $500. Any help is appreciated.
