Question on D16 Swap?!?!

Default Question on D16 Swap?!?!

I did a Search But Couldn't find anything. I'm new to this Hybrid stuff cause i drive a accord v6 so I dont know alot about Civic if you guys can help me out I would really appricated, Please dont Flame , but I just recently bought a 92 civic hatchback CX and my friend donated his 99 D16Y EX complete swap to me, I want to know if i can put this swap into my Hatchback cause i heard that the 99 engine was OBD2 and my car is OBD 1 so will this swap go into the hatchback easy or would there be alot of modification needed and what part do I need? I dont want to throw the 99 engine away cause I got it for Free. so any help would do...

you can use the motor, you just need an OBD I ECU from say a 92-95 Civic EX or Si.

i'm in the same boat now is there anything else that is needed.
note: i got the motor out of a 96 civic w/ motor,tranny,ecu,axles,shift linkage,etc. is there anything else that i will need?

It's actually a rather simple swap. You can drop it in complete as a swap or just the longblock and keep your tranny, although the EX tranny would be much much better. You will need to transfer your stock CX harness onto the 99 EX motor, rewire the EX distributor with your OBDI plugs. You could use your stock injectors or rewire the EX ones with OBDI plugs like the distributor.
You'll need to change the driver's side motor bracket and mount to your stock CX bracket and mount, then it will bolt right in. Pick up a 92-95 EX/Si P28 ECU, add the wiring for the VTEC solenoid, Pressure switch and convert to a 4 wire O2, then drive and enjoy.
