putting in B18C5 in 99si what to do about getting around the imobilezer
well I have the motor and I want to put it im my car execpt I have been told that the imobilizer will not allow the car to turn on so what to do. I dont want to mess up the ECU and want not to have a cell in my face all day from taking out the imobilizer so how do I get around it besides buying a new ITR ignition for my car so the imobilizer will work?
Please help I want my new motor bad
thanks in advance

the only way i know of is to send the ecu to someone that can remove the imobilizer. or find someone if they are local.

Tape the ITR key under the steering column. Use the stock key/cylinder to start the car.

Here Here! Yes run the P28 with a jumper harness! May I suggest H-T's own user "kenji" to make your jumper harness and re-chip a P28 for you? I used to have his harness in my Civic with B18C5 running the JDM P73 ECU - his harnesses are truly bad-*** and won't come un-pinned.
Then I got one of his P28s - even BETTER! The motor puts down more whp than most ITRs in my areathat have even more mods than I do.
Just IM kenji here at H-T.

and if you don't chip the P28 now, you'll wish you had done it later on!!!

Immobilizer is a false sense of security for Type R owners that's programmed into the stock P73 ECU.

Its a transponder embedded in the key. The ECU must recognize the code in order for it to activate the ignition and fuel system.

Well I messed up I baught the P73 aka ITR 00-01 ECU and have it already so how do I fix it now I dont want to take it out because of the cell all the time. Do I have to buy a new ignition and get new keys? with a ITR ignition fit a 99 Civic SI?
I hate this damn emissions

How about sell your ITR ECU and buy a P28 for like $100 from a Salvage yard and have kenji peprogram it for $150 or so?
Try that.

I say buy the P-28 and jumper. Then, kick yourself in the *** for not planning ahead and purchasing this in the first place.
