Need some advice folks..I bought a itr.swap last week came with a chipped p28 ecu on chrome he said.. someone offered me $100 for it. Should I sell and get a oem type r ecu? Its going in an ej8 coupe. Any help is appreciated
I could keep it.. havent done the swap yet some friends just said best bet might be to get an itr ecu to stay reliable and so I know 100 percent what I have
No real reason. I would be getting $100 for it ive found itr ecu for same price around here.. just to be safe is the reason Im thinkin of getting Rid of.it
It's a chipped ECU. We aren't psychic, so we can't tell you what the tune on the chip was made with. Just install it and see if it runs the car. If it does, then boom, you're golden.
If money isn't an issue, than go ahead and pay for another p73 and sell the chipped ecu for 100 dollars. The difference in you buying an p73 and selling the chipped p28 is minimal.
I'd sell that chipped ECU. At first glance it does not look to be a P28, but a P28 replica. You should be able to get more than $100 for it though. I wouldn't run a chipped ECU with an u known map loaded on the EEPROM. Do you have any tuning hardware? Or anything that you can read or modify the chip with?
Unless you want to pay for a tune. Sell the modified ECU.
Yeah it's a converted P06. But it'll run the same as a P28, or even a P73 if it's tuned right. Sans knock board of course. I don't follow your logic on selling a P28 for $100 just to buy a stock ECU for $200 when you could just order a stock P73 chip for 20 bucks.
