That was a very uninformed answer. The singe cam just isn't worth the money you'll put into it in the long run. Get the B series(I'd get the B16) and turbo it on down the road. You'll have a real fast car and smoke any single cam turbo on the road.

Ok I have had all of these engines at one point or another and for a platform to build up I would go with the b16a. Once you have that in by itself you will have the ability to put down some good number, but that all depends on how long term you want to build. If you don't mind the whole save up and buy a bunch of parts then save up again until you have all your parts.......DO IT, but if you want something now and don't mind rebuilding later I have a friend that has a d16a with a turbo that runs 11's but it was a purpose built drag car only. So it is really up to you, payoff now or big payoff illitle down the road, good luck.

no replacement for displacement....but all things being equal b16a will be quicker in 1/4 and and on the track...on street the ls will feel better...

if you go with LS get a b16a tranny at least, it makes a huge difference...also b20b/z is a good way to go as well....with a JDM s1, YS1, or j1 or even y1 tranny its a killer setup that give b18cs run for its money....

but if not a mini-me....swap is capable as well, good times can be achived...and forget about ZCs, way too much troble...

i just got my B18C into my crx...all i know is the car pulls a whole hellava lot more than my friends SOHC CRX...i would personally go with then LS in my state of CA...but if smog didnt matter i would be all over the JDM b16a...no doubt at all...expect to pay like 2000 more for a B18C but ur getting a faster motor...
