Default Problems on the track with my EG-B18C5

Hi,

i need help working my way on the track. best time was 14.2 @ 93.25mph, a common factor in every of my time slips is a 2.6 or 2.4 in the 60' range, i have very good lunch time .509 almost all the time but it dies at the 60 feet, what am doing wrong? am racing on street tires, toyo proxes 4, i have a chipped p30 and have no powerstering, no A/C, my powerplant is a b18c5 98 Spec, with a manifold, 2 1/4 straight pipe, iceman intake.

i would like if anybody can give me some input to try on the track, thanks!

slip the clutch out or buy an aftermarket clutch it will make this easier. i have a feeling your just revving it up and dropping the clutch.

learn to control the throttle and clutch to get a faster 60ft timer, i can pull 2.0 60 fts with an h22a on 17s in my hatch on low profile street tires.

After your lunch hour, go pick up some slicks or drag radials..

Can you explain this better? What do you do to launch better?

by regulating the rpm of the launch.

you launch too low and you bog
you launch too high and your wheels spin uncontrollably, and you often get wheel hop.

when you get a good launch you have enough wheel spint o keep revs up, but you are also able to get off the line very quickly.

this launch for me with the tires i used to use came at 3500-3800 rpm at the track. iw ould rev to that range andhold it, while lsightly preloading the clutch. then i would let teh clutch out smoothly but fairly quickly. i would NOT sidestep or just drop teh clutch. As I let the clutch out i would give the car more gas, this led to a fairly hard launch with a best 60 ft of 2.0 and best et of 13.7@99.96 mph.

when i got the launch right i could feel a huge diff as the car seemed to leap off the line, in fact i had even take a few RWD muscle cars right off the line that way.
