Hey guys,my friend has a 98civic with B16 inside, using a 2000 si cluster every thing else works exept when he got the car the speedometer did not work I checked the VSS voltage, getting voltage in the 0 to 5 volt range, installed a acluster from a 96 A/T civic when I turned on the car the speedometer went to 20mph and just stayed there whether driving or not, I switched the circuit board at the back of the Si speedomiter, with the one on the 96 civic A/T and no change, any suggestions I do not know what else to try. Thanks for your help.

 

replace the whole speedometer. The needle may have been taken off and put back on? If the vss is fine, thats the only thing I could think off is the speedo itself.

They are only like $80 at honda.
