Problems with new ls vtec bogging & miss fire
Im having an unknown problem with an ls vtec I just put together. It miss fires, bogs, and goes threw gas like nothing. I went 15 miles on a quarter of a tank! It's running on a virgin p72 with no check engine lights. Did a compression test and it came out to be 230-235-230-235. I've triple checked the timing and its perfect. Nothing obvious is wrong with it. I'm somewhat lost on where to start.
On any start up, even a cold start it idles around 1k. Not a problem I don't think, just seems weird it does not idle higher on a cold start.
You can hear a slight miss fire at idle and at any partial throttle it misses out bad. I put new spark plugs in which helped a ton, but did not fix the problem all the way.
I unplugged the map sensor and all the shenanigan's for the most part virtually went away. I can now cruise with no bogging at partial throttle. Aside from a funky idle at a stop and now check engine light .
Anyone have any ideas?
