prelude swap in a eg
I did a search I couldn't find exactly what I wanted to hear. How much will it cost for the parts and labor? Some guy gave me a quote over here he said he will charge me $3,000 just for the labor is this good? Sounds kind of high to me. Any input would be great guys thanks!

Re: prelude swap in a eg (KAMiN)
labor varies on the person/shop/work they do
honestly
your looking at 500-1000$ just for labor

That can't be the price for a prelude swap that sounds right for a B16 or B18c swap! Is there anybody else with some input? I just wanna get an estimate. Thanks for the input KAMiN.

Re: prelude swap in a eg (Nebula)
labor should not be $3000!!! that is way too much, the guy is smoking crack or something worse than that! it shouldn't be more than $1300.
if you get a mount kit from HA sport ($500) you're looking between $500 and $1300 for installation (depending on the shop/mechanic). do not pay more than that.

Maybe $3000 for SWAP + INSTALL, then that would be a good deal. Otherwise, $3000 alone for labor is like 3x the normal amount. A real shop charges anywhere from $600-$1400 (I've checked around since I've worked on a couple of H22 swaps... just finished one up in my friend's EK coupe). Honestly, bolting it up is very easy... it's the little things that will take the most time like running the cable linkage and wiring up everything and trouble-shooting the little details. Plus, after you work on a few of them, you start to learn a few tricks & tips, such as clearance issues on parts and how some hoses should/can be run to same time & money. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
