Default PR3 Automatic ECU Ignition and Timing Alteration

Easy question guys: I would like to know if it is possible to modify/"chip" an AUTO PR3 ecu as it is to do to a MANUAL PR3 ecu.

obd-0 automatic ls/vtec 1991 DA

thanks

Yes, just move the r68 resistor to the r67 position.

Woops, I mis-read your question. Yes, it is stright forward to chip a auto ecu.

excellent. that's what i wanted to hear. so the same kind of services offered for regular obd-0 ecus will work? no special parameters to take into account with the auto ecu because it works with the separate tcm for the transmission control.

Yes, it can be done (keeping auto and re-mapping). However, not everyone offers it. Most people that offer chips offer only ones that are just copied and re-burned, not truely custom chips. We do offer them for both the PR3 OBD1 or PR3 OBD0.

Is is possible to get a ECU mod done for a 2000 civic automatic? I don't want to start another thread so I'm asking here.

have you done a search? obd2b ecus are not chippable like obd1 ecus are.

p.s. -- maybe start your own thread next time

Yes I noted that, but there's also people saying that you can converter harness an obd1 to an obd2 to program it.

but you have an automatic. you'd have to either convert to a manual, or get one of those automatic obd2 to obd1 conversion harnesses and then get something. and if you go that far and spend that much, it may not be worth it.

Even if I had a manual, wouldn't I have to convert OBD2 to OBD1 with a harness anyhow? If chipping/ reprogramming my ECU is within a $300 range or less it's worth it IMO.
