You can use any 94+ gsr block. "Blown pistsons" sound more like a poorly planned/built engine than an idea that poorman type R's hate uncracked ringlands.

any year block would work fine. i would try to find a gsr block with some type r or b16 pistons. you gotta use the gsr head bolts. and maybe the b16 oil and water pump would be nice but if you just slap the head on the block it will be ok

I have a mint B18C1 95 block with GoldenEagle head studs (new) and a new headgasket but I would only sell it for 750.00 like this.

It took me about 4 months to find one worth buying and I had to buy the long block but I sold the head and wire harness so I paid what I was willing for this block.
By the time I got it last year the cold had hit so it is pouting in my garage awaiting this years action.

I think I am going to keep the p72's in it to keep my compression a little lower as I am debating boost at around 10-11 lbs.
I pieced together a turbo set for my b16 just haven't had any warm days to install everything. I still have a couple pieces to fab yet also.

If I stay allmotor I will swap my pr3's over or get P73's and maybe eagle H's since I am not going for a ton of hp.
But if I stay all motor which I am leaning towards now I think the H22 is in my near future since I can keep my Y21 and maybe get a 4.7 final put in.

I haven't had any time to start putting this together yet. Should have it running for the track by early april.
