Default Please Help, I forgot somethin really important!!!

I have a 94 Civ Ex and I’m swapping a b16a1 into it, here are my questions:

Will the exhaust manifold on be b16 match up to my current exhaust, at the catalytic converter (stock dimensions, but full stainless steel)?

What additional wiring will I need to do? Besides running the new ECU wires.

Are the shift linkages the same?

Thanks
Tim

I hope that you are using all OBDI components on the motor: disitributor, injectors, and ECU. If not, then the questions you asked will be the least of your problems.

Yes it should fit up with your exhaust.

If you are using you stock EX motor harness then the VTEC wiring is already in place. You'll need to add the Knock sensor and that should be about it.

The EX shift linkage will not work. You will need a B Series shift linkage if you haven't got one yet.

the shift linkages are not the same. you have to use b-series shift linkage. the exhaust manifold will line up with your exhaust, but you may have to lengthen the exhaust. when i put my b18c1 in my coupe i had to lengthen my exhaust. i dont know if u have to with a b16a1. im not sure if the b16's exhaust manifold is the same length as the b18c1's or if its longer.

GSR exhaust manifolds are shorter than the B16's. I have a 99 B18C1 in my 92 VX and had to lengthen the exhaust to fit. I installed a second gen B16 into my friend's 96 CX and it lined up perfeect with the stock exhaust. Your B16 should lineup with the stock exhaust on your 94 EX.

try the H-T classifieds, http://www.thepartstrader.com, e-bay, junkyards, and i guess if all else fails-a or dealership(you might have to give up your left arm though getting it from a dealership).lol

Actually you can get both linkage rods brand new for a little over $100 from Acura on the net. Most of the time when you buy used linkages they go for about $75 so a new one really isn't that much more.
