Please help f20b swap
Hey guys I have a 97prelude with a f20b swap that I just did an it was my first time so this is what's goin on I have a stock p28 ecu with a base map h22 chip now the car runs but it runs like crap It dumps to much fuel into the car an it gets into the motor oil witch is bad so i changed the oil like 3 times already !!when I give the car throttle it bogs down an wants to stall an it pops threw the intake an skips an wen it gets warmed up it's worse... I changed every sensor on the motor an re did the timimg all over an still nothing but when I had the h22 in there it ran fine I never had any problems with it so idk what to do I'm stumped I don't wanna give up also I changed the whole cabin an motor harness because the car use to be auto so I wanted every thing In it from a 5 speed motor but if any one can help please let me know thanks a lot

No I didn't but I did what they told me to do I hope it's right I changed the oil pump to a h22 an crank gear an I also changed the intake manifold to a h22 with the injectors an stock map sensor an I have a chipped p28 ecu so the car has to be tuned is that what ur saying ?? Also was that right that I changed all them things ??

I think what he's saying is that the"tune" for an h22 is not going to be right for an f20b even though you swapped over the oil pump sensors and gears it still only displaces under 2.0l not just under 2.2 l

Also what sizer were the stock injectors vs the h22 the h22 tune is going to be set to feed the engine more fuel than it needs to start with and if the injectors have a larger flow rating than the f20b did that's even more fuel

Re: Please help f20b swap
The tune will be relatively close. At worst, the 10% less displacement would cause a 1.5 point change in AFR's - 13:1 vs 14.5:1. My guess is you have a faulty injector, that's the only way it could be dumping that much fuel. Even at 50% more fuel it would nearly all go out the exhaust - mostly as black soot. To answer the size question, Pre-97 H22's used low-impedance 330cc injectors and 97+ H22/F20B/H23A used high-impedance 290cc injectors. The latency differences can make big differences at lower duty cycles, such as those used at idle.
Timing is totally different matter. The motor has less bore & less stroke, both usually require less timing. If you fix the fuel issue, you may need to retard the entire map a bit (manually via distributor) until you get it tuned.

Re: Please help f20b swap
From what I've seen the F20B fuel system is like the H22A4 and H23A, it runs 3.5-4 BAR fuel pressure. Get a LS or D16 regulator & cast-style H22/F22A fuel rail to reduce fuel about 7%, or just get an adjustable reg and reduce it 7-15psi. DO NOT get a crappy china-made regulator, they will cause even more problems.
If that doesn't work then you'll have to see if it's basic maintenance stuff (plugs/wires/etc), a clogged EGR system, or just needing a tune.

Ok I have the bottom of the f20b intake manifold with the top the h22 intake manifold an I have the stock h22 fuel rail with the f20b injectors an stock fuel presser reg an it runs fine but a high rpm now wen it hits vtec it pops out the intake I believe not sure tho so should I try the d16 pr ls reg still ?

Re: Please help f20b swap
I think you should try getting a wideband and a tuner. Your basemaps sounds like it's pure ****. Either pay someone to do some mild street tuning or pay to re-ring the motor several times over the next few years.

It's getting street tuned next week an where can I get a wide band an what is that cause this is my first ever doing a swap an should I get it before the tune ?

Re: Please help f20b swap
An I also forgot to tell you right now I'm using a p-13 stock h22 ecu but it will be getting tuned on a p-28 ecu an also it's not dumping fuel no more in to the oil
