parts list needed for d15z1 to d16y1 in a vei
NOTE:I LIVE IN AUSTRALIA
I have a Eg Civic VEI (VX) and its getting a bit tired so i want to put a d16y1 in. But im not sure what parts i need to change to fit the d16 in ??I spoke to a honda dealer and they told me that the Wiring loom in the vei(vx) and vti (si) have both the same part number so i should be able to just plug the vti ecu straight in???Also im not sure on the d15z1 gearbox It has really tall gears and im not sure if thats a good or bad thing with a d16 turbo??Also if anybody has done a swap like this plz contact me with some info

It should be a straight forward swap and most of your stock parts can be retained. You would want to use the P28 ECU from the Si (VTi) and your stock engine harness. Everything will be plug and play except for the O2 sensor which would need to be rewired to a 4 wire O2. I would go with the Si tranny over the VX even if you plan to turbo the motor. You will like the gearing a lot more, trust me. Oi!
