Default P72 is a gsr block..... right?

hey

if there is a stamp on the back of the block that says p72 it means its a b18c motor right? or do all b series (sp?) motors have this stamp?

usually the block will have the B18C stamped on it in the front that's easily visible.. and the P72 should be stamped on the actual Cylinder head portion.. I never actually seen the P72 stamp on the Block part.. but then again I never looked for that to identify it

On h series motors they are stamped just above the exhaust manifold flange on the head..

And above the oilpan on the block

Hi I have a P72 Block. It's a B18 factory block used in the BTTC (British Touring Car Championship) It is stamped P72 where B18 is stamped. I will post the picture tonight.

lol that's sweet.

does that motor come with the secondary runners too? i've never seen a gsr block used factory in touring racing, mainly the P75 or the itr motor

that "P72" has been restamped on top of the original B18C stamp including it's serial numbers....

on all ITR and GSR blocks whether it is a B18C5, B18C1, B18C4, B18C6, B18C, etc. on the back of the block there is a P72 marking

This is no big deal, but I can assure you that it is not a restamp on top of the B18Cx The serial is a non standard engine serial number. plus if it was restamped you would still be able to see B18Cx right?
