i have a 92 si with a 94 jdm gsr (b18c).im throwing a code 23 , which is my knock sensor. i wanted to know if i could use my old p28 ecu if i chipped it. would i have to change my intake manifold, or would it be better to use the p72 ecu and re-wire my knock sensor. ur help would be much appreciated. thanx

yes, u could use your p28, as soon as u get it chipped, and it would work fine, and it wouldnt read Knock, your butterflies wouldnt be a problem, but i suggest getting a Skunk 2 mani sooner or later preferably sooner, good luck!

stock intake manifold=p72
skunk2 manifold = p28
if your gonna stay with stock manifold the only way to go is p72 so you can utalize the dual stage runners.

i would personally not use the JDM P72 ecu, from few dynos it simply doesn't put out the numbers that the USDM GSR or chipped P28 does.
check out my torque dyno, of course Mugen with 4800-5200 vtec would have been much better but it was a last minute thing:
