ODB1 B18C in 98 EX Issues starting
Hey I just finished swapping in a B18C (JDM GSR) p72-1 engine into my ODB2a 1998 Ex, it is running a chipped p28 with a ODB2 > ODB 1 jumper harness and was running perfectly in the EG it was in prior to swapping into my car.
The engine starts sometimes immediately, or after almost a minute of cranking, but most of the time won't turn over at all.
The CEL light is on and through the method found here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/how-pull-cel-d4-srs-abs-codes-code-lists-1901557/
http://s1168.beta.photobucket.com/us...07141.mp4.html
using the service connector on the passenger side kicker panel I pulled the codes: 4,7,8,9 (I think)
4 CKP - crank position sensor
7 TPS - throttle position sensor
8 TDC - top dead centre sensor
9 CYP - cylinder sensor
The ODB2a dist wires from my harness were spliced and mated to the JDM GSR ODB1 dizzy plugs, I have referenced multiple sites to make sure the wires are correct but haven't soldered any connections yet, just twisted & e-taped
The car drove around the block fine with the exception of being in limp mode and the revs cutting out at around 3500-4000.
If anyone can help me figure out how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated as I am now stumped and in absolute need of your advice!

You def had some swapped around dizzy wires. Post what colors you have matched up on both sides. Also what color are the wires going to your TPS? For the dizzy you could have just swapped internals:

Sorry I haven't been on in a while, it's exam week in uni so i rolled the car out and threw the cover on and focused on my classes.
I will go out today and write down what colours I had matched up, but I followed the write ups online, with exception to one wire IIRC... because after wiring all the other wires up accordingly there was one from the dizzy, and one from the car harness that were left without matching colours so i mated them anyways because it seemed logical.
also i'll take a pic of the colour of wires leading into my TPS.
By the way, are b-series ODB1 Vtec dizzys the same as ODB2 Vtec dizzys (at least internally?) I was kinda hesitant to do that, I saw a few write ups but decided not to molest the dizzy at all to prevent any possible unnecessary mistakes

Hey, just an update.
I fixed the issue by replacing the ODB1 GSR distributor with a ODB2 ITR distributor, re-attaching the oem d16y8 plug back on the chassis harness, then just plugged it in.
Should have done that from the beginning and saved all the hassle...
