Default OBD1 motor in a 2000 si, possible?

I have a turbo 2000 SI. I want to start building a motor for turbo on the side so when this one goes, I am ready. question is what is the easiest way to swap an obd1 motor into the car? I will still have the obd2 distributor, wiring harness and ecu. I know you have to use obd1 ecus for a lot of engine management units and piggy back units. Can I just get an obd1 b16 or b18, for example, with an obd1 wiring harness, an obd1 ecu, and obd1 distributor to swap right in. I am not concerned with emissions. I just want to know if it is possible and what would be the least painless. I don't mind spending a extra to make things work smoother.

You can use the obd1 motor with a jumper harness and an obd1 ecu. you will need to retain the stock harness and either swap out the dist, alternator, and injectors for the obd 2 units or just rewire the plugs. this way though you will have a few left over plugs on the harness that the obd1 motor wont have.
