O2 sensor question
I just put a '99 B18C1 in my 92 CX. I ordered a primary O2 sensor from IAS. When I went to install it, it appears that the plug doesn't match the engine. I'm trying to figure out if I have the wrong sensor, or if I was looking at the wrong plug on the engine.
I'll post a pic when I get home, but in the meantime, I'm hoping someone can help. The oxygen sensor plug is a grey, four-wire plug with the white insert with a white "post" running down the middle. The plug on the car (the one I think is right... meaning the only one I could find), is solid grey and has circles around all the plug connetions. There's no way these two match up.
It would be great if anyone has a picture of a primary O2 plug, or can give me a good description. I originally thought maybe they sent me an ODBI sensor.

Not the plug... ah, I don't think I can describe it. I keep forgetting to take the pictures. I'll try to do it when I get home.

All O2 sensors for the Civic(92-01)/Integra(94-01) no matter what OBD smog you are running are the same. The only discrepency is that VX Civics have a five wire O2.
The plug on all the o2 sensors excluding VX are a four pin kind of square like design. If the plug on your engine harness does not match up than you have the wrong plug. Primary should be near header and secondary should be near cat.
I know this because I have a B18C5 wired OBD2 in my EG6.
I was running it OBDI originally using a modified 94 Si harness. Never changed O2 sensors.
I wish I had pics, but anyways good luck.

Re: O2 sensor question (Jayson S.)
Well, I should probably just let this thread die, but I'll come back and admit to being a dumbass...
When I crawled under the car the first time, it was late and I was half-asleep. When I saw the "plug" I just looked good enough to know that it didn't match what was in my hand.
After ordering a NEW O2 sensor (ouch), I pulled it out of the box only to find that it had the same exact plug as the used one I bought for $20. I immediately knew what had happened, and crawling under the car confirmed it. Apparently, when they pulled the engine originally, they just ripped the wires out of plug, leaving both halves of it there.
Oh well, another $160+ wasted. I guess I may use it some day.

Re: O2 sensor question (JeffS)
yeah. i have a 92 civic VX. I put a 95 gsr motor in it. and I have the same problem. My O2 plug doesn't fit the plug on the harness. And its also weird, becasue everyone talkes about a primary and secondary O2, but i only have the one just before the cat. I dunno what to do. Im just about ready to sell my car.
does anyone want to buy it??
