Default Not Hitting V-tec

I just recently did a swap b18c1(GSR) swap into a 97 civic dx, and i was wondering why my car wont go into v-tec. i got a shop to wire up the wires on the v-tec sol, knock sensor. Also i'm using the stock dx d16 engine wiring harness. Does anyone know of a reason why v-tec doesn't engage? also the shop said i might need a si wiring harness, is that true or are they just trying to rip me off? also i had to get a custom exhaust i have 1 o2 sensor before and 1 after the cat.

You do not need a Si wire harness, and the shop who wired your car needs to straight wire your V-tec solenoid (green/yellow wire), vtec oil pressure switch (blue), ground (black) straight to the ECU. Vtec s. goes to plug A12 on ecu, oil press. switch goes to C15, ground goes to any ground wire or groud it to anything metal attached to the chasis.

I don't know much but why are you using a d16 ecu for a b18c1 engine? The d16 ecu you have is for an engine that doesn't have vtec so it's not going to activate it on your gs-r engine. Maybe geting yourself an ecu that matches the engine would help

Ok i recently got a obd2 scan and found the following codes. P0113 (IAT Circuit High Input) P1508 (Mfr Controlled vehicle speed, idle control and Aux input) P1259 (Manufacturer Controller Fuel and Air metering. Does anyone have any idea of how to fix these problems? Also I'm using a obd2 p72 ecu.
