Default New civic typer R motor swap???

I was just thinking about how they said that they were gonna realease the new Civic Type R with the same motor that is in the S2000/RSX. Now its gonna be a front wheel drive platform so Im thinking that swaps of that motor are gonna be possible. I could really use a 6 speed in my 95 GSR!

It's not the same as the S2000, that is an f20 and the teg, civ is a k20. Totally different.

Thank for the info. So then the K20 swap would be possible.

it's possible for that swap... but for the $$ into fabricating stuff, i dont think it'll be worth it.... you could probably get a turbo and a built motor...

nothing will bolt in ....first the new motors spin in the world accapted direction (clockwise) not like the old honda motors counter-clockwise....

so that why the k20a tranny is on the other side not like the old style...even if you get it in you would have 6 reverse gears and one forward gear...

if you really want a 2.0 get a b20b/z and use your b18c head...(crvtec) or destroke the h22a to 2.0........your choice....

Everyone says that, but all you'd have to do is bolt the engine in in the opposite direction... c'mon... that would straighten the gears out.

right but then you would need to build a new exhaust manifold, redo the shift linkage completly....there is more problems with it then its worth...
