Need help ASAP! IAT Sensor Error Code!!!
Allright, I have to get my car smogged soon, and I need my LS swap to have a BAR sticker.
I have an check engine light left. the error code is
Intake Air Tempature Sensor: LOW INPUT
CAN anyone tell me how to fix this? I replaced the sensor itself and it didnt change it. I changed it and checked after I installed it, and it was still there. I cleared the codes and it came back.
What would be causing this? I need to get this done ASAP, cause I have to have my car smogged in 1 month...
thanks for help!!

Check for reference voltage at the connector. It should be close to 5 volts. If it's not, try checking the wiring to the connector. I had a code 6 (Coolant Temp. Sensor) and the problem was the wire that sent 5 volts to the sensor was all chewed up. It was only getting about 2 volts. I just fixed the wire and problem was solved. Hope this helps.

Did you happen to fix your sensor, Ransack? I have code '10' on mine, IAT sensor, and we thought it might be that the wires were switched on the sensor on accident. We switched the wires back but it did no good. My main question is, will this CEL rob the engine of any power? Or is it one of those more useless ones?
no it shouldnt rob the engine of any power, from what I am told all it does is give you bad gas mileage when the sensor isnt working. I think mines working, just has low input. I think its the wiring and im going to hardwire it to the ECU to test that soon. But it shouldnt draw power

the IAT can effect timing and fueling to some degree,
have you done the failsafe reset - disconnect the battery for a few minutes.
if you have replaced the sensor - then it could be the wires, check for continuity between the ECU and hte sensor plug...

Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference between OBD1 and OBD2 IAT's? The one I received is round, however the one on my motor is rectangle. Anyone know? Thanks!
