My dilema
For the past few weeks i've been trying to decide how i should resolve my little dilema. About a month ago i totaled my r (rip 01-0524) - its a long story and i don't want to go into alot of detail- but whats left of the car thats basically important to me is the engine. The impact to the car is extensivly on the driver side door caused by me slamming into a tree. Basically it wrapped around the tree causing the whole car to buckle. The door almost touches the center console
and the passenger side door even is affected. Well the motor and whole engine compoartment is basically untouched with about 9000 miles on it and i decided to get the car back from the insurance company along with the settlement. I'm also thinking of buying this civic si i was prospecting that belonged to one of my customers at work. He says it is salvaged by means of theft recovery but he put everything back together and except for minor front body damage, it just needs to be cleaned up. Well i drove it around the block and it ran strong. he wanted about 5500 but i think i could talk him down to about 3500-3800. he got the car with 8000 miles on it and now it has 16000. do you guys think this is a good deal? if i did dump the motor into the si would it be easy as opposed to any welding or would a regular mecanic be able to do it. anyways i was really opting toward a gsr turbo, b ut if i get this civic it might change my scenario. I was going to put the R in the recycler but didn't know if i should part it out or just sell the whole thing. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to post. thanx

get a nice CX or VX 92-95 hatch (or an EK if you got $$) with a clean title and clean body, and drop that suckah in there. you're lookin at high 13's to low 14's with no other mods... pretty quick eh? or get an 88-89 CRX HF and you're lookin at low to mid 13's
, that would be sick!
