Default More VTEC wiring issues

My current situation:
98 usdm b18c1
95 LS
p72 ECU

The shop that hooked up the wiring for me tells me that since they can't hook up a knock sensor that I'll get a check engine light, and that I need a chipped p28. true?

Ok, so you are installing a 98 b18c in a 95 Ls? If you can, get a 95 b18c engine wire harness. If you can't do that, just have the shop run an extra wire from the knock sensor to the ECU....it is really easy, only one wire.

With a chipped P28 you will not be able to control your secondary butterflies, unless you installed some sort of rpm activated switch.

i dont think the ls block has a hub for the knock sensor, at least my b18a block did not. you can just run the wire like mentioned above and make an adapter out of a bolt that fits into any extra hole in your engine. then weld that bolt to a nut that will fit your knock sensor and voila.... your knock sensor plugs in.
