Default mini me

i want to put a ex head on a cx motor, 5 gen. the thing i am wondering about, is that the cx is only an 8 valve and the ex is a 16 valve. My question is, will there be enough valve reliefs on the cx motor. Ive heard mixed opinions. Ive posted on a couple other boards i belong to, so if u are reading this again im sorry, but i really would like a mechanics opinion on the topic, or even better if there is someone that has done it. Thanx

You'd have to look at the piston to be sure. I would doubt there wil be 4 reliefs on an 8 valve motor. I have a 96 DX with a 96 EX head, looks to be an easy swap. Should be done in a week or two. Of course, my DX is a 16 valve not an 8.
