Default male and female plug from distributor wire harness is frozen.. won't seperate!

I'm trying to remove a distributor out of a 1995 honda civic. Part of the procedure involves disconnecting male and female wireharness plugs and one of the plugs are simply frozen shut. I've tried seperating them with pliers,, brute force and they barely budge. Is there any secret to getting these things to come apart? I'm holding down the release at the end of the connector so I know there shouldn't be anything stopping it from comming apart. The car is however 12 years old.. but the other two plugs came apart pretty easy.. need some help.

you have to remove it from the bracket or it won't come apart, if you removed it already, try harder

is there gunk over it or is just not working? Those clips can be such a pain in the *** but unless it's broken, there's nothing keeping it from coming apart so you should just keep trying

remove it from the bracket and I think it has a very small locking pin on the back side of the big clip

Ok I hear you on the bracket.. I do remember seeing a small metal piece going through the bracket but then my question is how do you remove it from the bracket? I can't tell if I'm supposed to push the metal down or pull it up.

dude look at some of the other plugs on the car, like the main harness plugs on the strut towers, they are easier to see and get to, there is a little tab you have to shift to the side a bit to slide it off the metal bracket, then it will separate, use a little flat head screw driver, once of the metal bracket they separate fairly easy, good luck
