Ls/Vtec Questions
I have a 95 honda civic hatch with a 94 ls engine. I want to do a ls/vtec. Does it matter what year b16a head i get for my block and what problems will i have by using a Sir1 b16a head and trying to use my ls wiring harness?Thanks-----------------

kewl, but will my LS wiring harness plug into the first gen 16a1? i plan on using a chipped p28 ECU because it doesn't have the knock sensor. i'm just worried about the b16a harness because it's the milky white JDM type. Also, the cheapest i can find a b16a1 is $350 from k.wantanabe---do you know of anywhere cheaper in southern Cali or AZ? And if i use the chipped p28, can i use the b16a distributor or do i have to use my LS and cut the leg off for the vtec solinoid?-------thanks

you wont have any problems using the hard parts, like head manifolds etc. Just make sure you use your b18b injectors and not the b16a ones. also, you want to use an obd1 distributor. dont try to use the one that comes on the b16. then just plug in the wiring harness you alredy have and run the wires for the vtec.
can i use the distributor off my ls head with a chipped p28 ECU? And would it make things easier if i had a wiring harness from a 92-95 civic si or ex instead of running all the jumper wires for the Vtec?---thanks
