Default Ls/vtec overheating

i just swapped the lsvtec in my EG. It was running good for the first few days but than I noticed my temperature gauge needle shot striaght up. I stopped immediatly and noticed my retriever tank was overflowing with hot coolant. I dumped some of it out and made it home okay. The needle continously went from middle to high continuously. The next day i started it up and let it run for awhile, and thats when I noticed the upper half of my radiator was smoking. What is going on? Is there any way to fix this without resorting to a new radiator?
Thanks

i would refill the cooling system bleed all the air out of it let the car run under your careful supervision and go from there....coolant leaks..??
or to make it quick a radiator pressure tester

if your radiator is cracked and or seeping ...Yea replace it
